Winter Hair Love

There’s not a woman I know who hasn’t struggled or had to work to keep her hair hydrated during the winter months. If you live on the east coast, then you’ve experienced how drying the weather can be to locs and tresses. Keeping your hair moisterized and hydrated throughout the year is significant but definitely even moreso during the winter.

And just as keeping your hair hydrated it’s also just as  important to keepyour scalp moisterized as well. Needless to say: dandruff? Not cute by any stretch. And after trying product after product that was either not formulated enough or too heavy, I’ve found one that worked well–>

 I love an all natural product and this is the staple for the Carol’s Daughter brand. All her products are natural and specially made for women of color or women with thicker hair (Yes please!). And what’s even better is the prices are great. The bottle picture above goes for twenty bucks in-store, on the Carols Daughter site, and/or in Sephora stores. The ingredients as listed on the bottle are: Peppermint Oil, Almond Oil and Sage Oil. And I loveee that she also describes why these ingredients are important.

The texture of the oil for me was “just right.” Not too heavy and not too light to discourage any belief that it wouldn’t work. It smells wondefully of peppermint and you can feel the tingle when massaged onto the scalp. I first sampled this product from my local Sephora and fell in love with it. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to keep their scalp in healthy shape this winter!
