Lamar recently received 11 Grammy nominations for his album To Pimp a Butterfly, surpassing Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, who both earned seven. Thus, also setting a new record for hip-hop artist with the most nominations in a year.
“The album just had a deeper impact than I expected, because it touched so many homes, and not just in my own community. I guess I’m just speaking words that need to be heard in these times.” The 2016 Grammy Awards will air live on Feb 15th.
